Collaborative Systems for Audio
A decade-long infrastructure partnership with a NYC audio engineering firm

Background
A decade-long technical partnership
This NYC-based audio engineering firm collaborates with leading creative agencies and global brands. Over more than ten years, RSystems has partnered with the firm's internal technical team across an evolving set of infrastructure challenges — security protocols, network efficiency, infrastructure redundancy, and disaster recovery.
That partnership has expanded the firm's network capabilities, modernized server infrastructure, implemented application virtualization, designed a new studio facility, and built critical data redundancy and internet failover systems.
The Challenge
The pandemic exposed the limits of on-premises storage
Prior to 2020, the firm relied on physical servers to manage substantial amounts of shared data. RSystems had already deployed Synology NAS technology with redundant data across two studio locations via site-to-site VPN — solid infrastructure for in-office work.
Then the pandemic hit. Remote workers faced severe challenges transferring the large files at the core of audio production. What had been a resilient on-premises architecture became a bottleneck the moment people left the building.
“RSystems helped us understand hybrid cloud solutions — blob storage, deduplication, backup schemes. They had the expertise to implement it too.”

The Solution
Hybrid storage and cloud-based identity
RSystems architected and deployed a hybrid storage environment combining Windows Server, Synology NAS, and Morro Data synchronization technology. The result: real-time file accessibility from any location, dependable backups, and a scalable foundation for future growth.
For remote workforce support, RSystems implemented JumpCloud — a cloud-based directory platform managing user and device authentication across the firm's entire environment.
Both systems operate under a shared administration model. The firm handles daily operations; RSystems provides oversight, manages integrations, and functions as a fractional CTO — bridging the gap between the firm's internal technical team and the strategic infrastructure decisions that require senior-level guidance.
Outcomes
What we delivered.
- Real-time file accessibility for remote workers across all studio locations
- Unified cloud-based identity and device management via JumpCloud
- Ongoing fractional CTO engagement — infrastructure strategy aligned with business objectives
- Strengthened client confidence in security posture and equipment reliability
